Subject

The Subject in a sentence is the person or thing that carries out the action of the verb.

Examples:

Wesly kicked the ball.

The subject of the above sentence is 'Wesly', as he carried out the action of the verb 'kicked'.


The dog barked at the postman.

The subject of the above sentence is 'dog', as the dog carried out the action of the verb 'barked'.




Object

The Object in a sentence is the person or thing that is affected by the action of the verb.

Examples:

Wesly kicked the ball.

The object of the above sentence is 'ball', as the ball was affected by the action of the verb 'kicked'.


The dog bit the postman.

The object of the above sentence is 'postman', as the postman was affected by the action of the verb 'bit'.
